Premios Lo Nuestro, Miami: Colgate Beauty Bar, Robert Giordano Salon

colgate beauty bar miami

Premios Lo Nuestro was held last week, in Miami.  As part of the festivities leading up to the hugely acclaimed Latin music awards show, Colgate held a beauty bar at the beautiful Roberto Giordano salon.
The salon is located in Mary Brickell Village, which is usually the epicenter of chaos and over saturation (thanks to the worst city planning that any US city has ever seen), but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the salon offered complimentary valet right in front of the location.  No need to circle endlessly looking for parking: major plus!

I opted to get a manicure courtesy which has really held up. I got my nails done last Wednesday, a full seven days ago, and so far no chipping. I was really happy with the job that my stylist did.

I am loving all of the nautical, floral and bright colored items that are currently in stores and online.

I am now super advanced in my online tech skills, ha. You can click directly on any item in my collage and it will take you directly to the item online.

 Enjoy your weekend.

Take 40% off a full priced Banana Republic item with online code: BRCLUE40

Terrible iPhone photo, but awesome Banana Republic Sloan Fit Slim Pants. I have several of these in various colors and I wear them to work on days that I don't have to wear full suits. In this picture I'm wearing the navy color. I just recently bought them and love what a good alternative to black navy is. It's so much better than wearing black all the time, which I tend to do when I fall into a work clothes rut.

My blazer is just a basic tan blazer, from Banana as well, but I like how it has cute lining so that I can cuff the bottom of the sleeves and get some added style points.

My button down the natuical themed Banana Republic Soft Wash Nautical Print Shirt is under $30 and also anchor themed).  I'm wearing my most comfy pair of work pumps, the Ann Taylor Kenzie Pump in suede.
The work carry-all is the Longchamp Le Pliage (large one) in color 'Bilberry.'
Glasses are c/o Italia Independent.

Happy Friday <3

New Fashion App: Fashom

There's a new fashion app in town - Fashom! Founder Mitali Saxena chose Miami to launch her new online app because she felt we Miamians are at the forefront of the social media and fashion fusion.  We could not agree more! We attended a preview and presentation for the debut of Fashom, which was held at the Hangar Gallery in Wynwood.  The app is centered around fashion selfies;  what a lot of us already do. Think of it as a fashion-only Instagram feed, with real girls featuring their real style.  It also has a map section that allows you select a certain area of the world that you'd like to focus in on, so that you can see what fashionable ladies in that region are wearing.  Check out this art space too, there's a cool modern mix of art.  I snapped some pictures of the artwork and have included it with this post.

From the creators: Fashom is a new site designed to unite the everyday fashionistas of the world. Its fashion platform allows you to showcase your designs, style preferences, DIY ideas, street sitings and way more. Once registered, our site and app allow you to post photos and videos, vote on style trends, peruse our newsfeed for creative inspiration and keep in the loop on trends getting started by everyday people all around the world! - See more at: http://www.fashom.com

Vixen Workout: Miami + Covergirl #Bombshelling

Have you guys heard of the Vixen Workout? I was invited to attend one of their workout sessions on South Beach.  We got to preview behind the scenes filming for the workout and tested out new makeup products by Covergirl.  Before the class started, we were given makeup touchups courtesy of Covergirl using the new Bombshell products. My favorite product from the Bombshell collection is the Bombshell ShineShadow, a nice cream to powder shadow that's easy to blend and pretty sparkly (more of a night time make up product).

I'm giving away two products at the bottom of this post - one ShineShadow and one BombShell Volume by LashBlast Mascara.

I am not much for working out, and I was injured (of course) for the session...but, I do love dancing and music.  And that is exactly what this was.  The studio space is a large warehouse with a stage in the center. The workout leader of the "Vixen Army" and the founder of the workout, Janet Jones, danced on stage to hip hop music while she lead a huge group of ladies through the workout.  The entire experience is centered around women empowerment, and just having fun, releasing tension and positive energy.  The music blasts, the ladies dance in sneaker wedges, and you leave feeling like you left the best concert of your life, with all your best girlfriends.  No men allowed.

The Architect of Style, Prints + Illustrations: Style File

When I first started blogging, I hid from the Miami scene because of my job and because I did not want anyone to know that I was blogging; I am a really private person.  Once I ventured out of my shell, I met so many awesome girls, and I genuinely became friends with them.  Enter, Gissi Jimenez of The Architect of Style.  I love this girl and her heart of gold.  We have a lot in common because we both have very stressful nine to fives, and oftentimes bond over how our day jobs come first, and are less fun than our blog lives (wah!).

Not only does Gissi juggle her architecture job and her blog, but she's now added an additional business to her life: illustrations and prints.  She has recently launched her first online shop -The Architect of Style Shop, where she will sell her original fashion-centered illustrations.

The illustrations are mounted on heavy felt, textured cardstock.  They're available in two sizes: 8X10 with white matting and 11X14 with no matting.  They're watercolor and ink based.

* Buy the prints here *

Gissi kindly donated one of her prints for today's Giveaway! Just in time for Valentine's Day!
Details on how to enter at the bottom of this post.
Open to US residents only.

Jaimie Nicole Jewelry: Style File

This weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting with jewelry designer Jaimie Nicole Shepard in her Miami showroom.  I have been a fan of Jaimie's for almost two years now, and have watched her company, Jaimie Nicole, grow from a fledgling Miami business to a nationally known brand.  This talented Miami native has what it takes to make it in the industry: a business-savvy mind and an eye for color pairings that can't be beat.
Jaimie hand crafts all of her pieces from the finest materials; you can tell the difference in quality right away, by just feeling and holding her jewelry.

When you browse her website you will find long beaded pendants, druzy bracelets and necklaces, amethyst and turquoise beaded necklaces, and plenty of fodder for your arm party.  You will also find gorgeous statement earrings and bold, chunky rings.  What I love about her pieces is their versatility.  You can wear them with a t-shirt and jeans but you can also wear them out for a night on the town.

Take 30% off the Valentine's Day Collection with code VDAYLOVE and take 10% off sitewide with code ENJOY10 (and you can use both coupon codes on one order!)
Sale runs from the 4th through the 16th of February, 2014.

The Jaimie Nicole Showroom is located at 4649 Ponce De Leon BLVD, Suite 305, Coral Gables, Fl 33156.

Furla Relaunch - Miami Boutique, Village of Merrick Park

The Furla boutique at the Village of Merrick park got a makeover!  The store, which is located on the ground level, next to the Nordstrom's entrance, received a major redo in order to usher in the new Spring 2014 collection.
If you are not familiar with the brand, chances are that you will fall in love with the Candy collection - colored "jelly" bags and clutches that are too cute to pass up.  If you're a Furla loyalist, you will be pleasantly surprised by the new collection, which features lots of textured leather, and gorgeous colors, staying true to the brand.  There's something for everyone at the store, including mini handbags, keychains, belts, and shoes

The Furla Candy bags make great holiday / Christmas gifts - they're fun and fashion forward.  They retail for about $250 but they frequently go on sale at retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, where they will be listed at a discount.. For the holiday season, Nordstrom has price matching, and this Candy satchel is currently 30% off.
