Christian Dior Haul - Vintage Jewelry Edition

The most delightful surprised landed on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago!
I should preface this by saying that there are a lot of fashionable ladies in my family.  It seems like we generally love stuff.  My aunt, in particular, has a love and affinity for collecting baubles.  She collected costume jewelry through the 90's focusing primarily on her favorite brand of the day: Christian Dior.

Then, out of the blue, she sadly developed a skin allergy to any non-precious metal!  All of her favorite pieces had to be put away and saved for a rainy day.  Boxed away for years, the trinkets were forgotten, until the day she moved out of her house and found the boxes again.

Knowing how much I love this kind of thing, she was so, so gracious, and one night, dropped off the most fantastic stuff.  The pictures do not do these guys justice. At all.

How lucky am I?

Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry that was gifted to you by a family member?

OOTD: NYC

About a month ago we took a trip to one of my favorite cities in the U.S., NYC of course! I have always loved New York and the feeling I get when I travel there.  While it was a very quick trip (which of course only left me wanting to go back during the holidays, something that I've always wanted to do, but I digress), it was a great time!

We scoured local neighborhoods searching for the perfect Chinese food (Phoenix Garden, anyone?).  We did the touristy thing and visited Times Square and The Top of the Rock.  We made our way to the LES to the highly recommended Schillers,(you need to go!).

Actually, thinking back, nothing disappointed more than my outfits.  That's right.  Something about not being able to access my entire closet while getting dressed in the morning made for lackluster sartorial choices, and an even more lackluster documenting of said outfits.

Fashion choices aside, the most important and special part of the trip? Spending time with two very special people. <3

Currently Coveting: Fall Suede Pumps

Hello! Happy Friday!
There are so many beautiful Fall shoe choices that I had to narrow down the category of this post and single out suede pumps.   Just like Summer brought us a splash of color with neon pumps and sandals, Fall is bringing us a ton of color with jewel tones like purples and greens.

Fashion's Night Out, September 6, 2012, Miami - Neiman Marcus at the Village of Merrick Park

On Thursday evening, myself as well as hordes of other fashionable ladies around the country gathered at our favorite boutiques, galleries, and designer clothes' havens for Fashion's Night Out 2012.  FNO has become a very popular annual event in the fashion community and FNO in Miami is no exception.  In a city that boasts fashion forward and trendy women, the event has spread to include fetes in all Miami hot-spots, including the Design District, the Shops at Bal Harbour and many, many more.  This years' outting led me to Neiman Marcus at the Village of Merrick Park located in Coral Gables.

The event at the NM store was amazing.  I've never seen the store get so crowded!  Total sensory overload when I walked in.  Everyone was dressed to the nines, enjoying complimentary cocktails and eyeing the latest in Fall Fashion.  And let me tell you - I definitely eyed.  I eyed so much that one of the guys at Fendi told me that I had missed my calling.  Sadly, I think he was right.

It wasn't long before we were escorted down by Maria (thank you!) to our seats which were located semi-front row, for NM's Fall Fashion show.  After a brief intro by Mr. VP Stephen Brunelle (the tailoring on that suit he wore - perfection!), the show began.

I can tell you this: every single piece was perfectly styled and had me drooling.  The accessories included many bags by Louis Vuitton, shoes by Louboutin, and bold statement jewelry like gold cuffs and jeweled necklaces.

A big thank you to Ana for our invite!

See my snapshots from the show under the cut.  Included under the photos are links to where you can purchase some of the items from the fashion show.  Warning: picture heavy post.

Which are your favorite pieces from the show?
